YouAnimator is for all the animators with a dream. Maybe you are a veteran animator dreaming about establishing yourself in the industry as an expert, or want to stay very marketable in the industry. Maybe you want show you demo reel to the increasing number of studios around the world… Maybe you are an aspiring animator who wants to break into the industry and be discovered. YouAnimator is for YOU!
Do studios really use YouAnimator?
Yes. Several major studios regularly look for talent on YouAnimator – whether they want to establish a new studio in Singapore or Vancouver, whether they look to discover new talent, or simply look at promising animators at other studios. The number of studios is increasing as the number of animators' demo reels grows.
What is an animation demo reel?
A demo reel is a short compilation of your work that adequately demonstrates your skills to animation studios. Usually a demo reel is between 2 to 3 minutes long. Any short work of animation that you feel is the best representation of your skills can be your demo reel.
Can I use studio material in my demo reel?
It is legally accepted to use studio material in your demo reel as long as the material was your own work. Use of copyright-protected material by the author to build their portfolios, show their portfolios to prospective clients or demonstrate their creative output generally constitutes fair use of the material under the U.S. Copyright Act, even if the author has assigned the work to others. For further information, please review Fleming v. Miles, 181 F.Supp.2d 1143 (D. Oregon 2001) or Unbundling Fair Uses, 77 Fordham L. Rev. 2537 (2009).
What is a good demo reel like?
When you create a demo reel pay attention and be selective: follow these guidelines: (1) put your stronger work to the front; (2) your demo reel is as strong as your weakest shot – so take out shots that you’re not super proud of; (3) the Judges will not care about fancy colors and texture – only about great character animation (4) try not to include music, it is very distracting. Our Judges will most likely turn the music off. And finally: (5) A good demo reel doesn’t just show your skills but shows your personality! It doesn’t only show that you have a good grasp on the principles of character animation but also shows off your acting skills.
At this point, YouAnimator only evaluates character animators – as studios use YouAnimator to find and discover talented character animators. We will not be able to evaluate rigging and modeling demonstrations at this point. Which doesn’t mean we won’t do it in the future.
How many demo reels can I upload?
It is possible that someone has 2 - maybe 3 demo reels. However, if you find that you have more than 2 demo reels - you may want to think about compiling your work into one demo reel: the best of your best. That’s all studios care about.
What is my “official demo reel?”
You will be asked to select one of your demo reels as your “official demo reel.” This is the reel that will represent you in the Studio Search Module. Animation studios search for animators based on the rating (grade) for the official demo reel. For example, let’s suppose you have three demo reels and each demo reel has been evaluated. We suggest that you select the one with the highest score as your official demo reel – as studios search for animators based on rating/grade of the “official demo reel” only. You can always change which reel is your “official reel” later.
How does the professional evaluation work?
Very simple: Select one of your uploaded demo reels and submit it for Professional Evaluation. After that, your demo reel will be analyzed and evaluated by an expert Judge: a professional studio animator. When he/she is done evaluating it, it will be sent to a second professional studio animator at a different studio. When the second Judge is completed, it will be sent to a third professional studio animator who will also evaluate it. These three evaluations will be independent from one another: one Judge will not know how the others evaluated and rated your demo reel. At the end, your final score will be the average of the three scores.
How many demo reels can I submit for professional evaluation?
You can submit all your demo reels for evaluation. However, remember: you will have to select one of those demo reels as your “official demo reel” that will represent you in the Studio Search module. And please note: one demo reel can only be submitted once for evaluation!
What is the method and rating scale of the evaluation? What does it mean?
Animation demo reels will be evaluated and graded based on the principles of character animation. The Judges will evaluate your reel based on how well you demonstrate your skills in your reel. The method and scale we use are the same that is used at Walt Disney Feature animation to evaluate candidates and internal talent: A beginner with little experience is a JOURNEYMAN, with slightly more skills the animator is someone who’s had some EXPOSURE; the animator who works well and has a good handle on the principles is someone who EXECUTES while the animator with impressive work is someone who EXCELS. And finally, the animator who demonstrates rare skills whose art pushes the limits of creativity is EXEMPLAR.
YouAnimator's Judges are industry professionals, studio animators with a strong experience in reviewing and evaluating animators' demo reels. The expert Judges come from some of the top animation studios with over 5 years of feature-film character animation experience - many of them Supervising and Senior Animators. The list of Judges may change - as new Judges are invited to evaluate submitted reels.
What is the Studio Search Module?
The Studio Search Module is a search engine that allows animation studios to search for and find talented animators based on several unique criteria. One of these criteria is Professional Evaluation/Grade. Studios are able to quickly find the most appropriate talent, review the animator's Business Card, Demo Reel - and even contact the animator directly. Only those animators who have their demo reels evaluated by YouAnimator's professional judges get into the animator database for the Studio Search Module.
Who has access to the Studio Search Module?
The Studio Search Module is not available to the general public. Only studios that apply for a YouAnimator account will have access to it. Studios need to request access directly from YouAnimator management to have access to the Studio Search Module.
How can studios find me in the Studio Search Module?
When your professional evaluation and rating is complete, you will have the option to get your business card and demo reel into the Studio Search Module without extra cost! This is where studios can easily search for and talented animators. A studio's YouAnimator home page is their Search Module.
How much does it cost to upload my demo reel?

How much does it cost to request a professional evaluation?
A professional and personalized demo reel review, analysis and evaluation by three experts from top animation studios could easily be thousands of dollars! On YouAnimator, it’s only $39.90!
How much does it cost to get into the Studio Search Module?
We don’t believe that getting a foot in the door of the animation industry should cost you. Only evaluated and rated demo reels get into the Studio's Search Module (Talent Database) and the professional evaluation is $39.90. However, there is no extra fee or cost after that to get into the Search Module.

Industry-Standard Animation Skill Evaluation Criteria
Every submitted demo reel will be reviewed, analyzed, evaluated and rated by three accomplished animation professionals from three separate major animation studios. These Judges are from top feature studios and are usually Supervising or Senior Animators with years of experience of evaluating candidates' demo reels and fellow animators' performances. The evaluations will happen individually – and the animator will receive the average score of the three ratings.
The method of evaluation and rating is based on the level of demonstration of the understanding of the principles of character animation. The evaluation will assess the animator’s artistic skills from implementing and demonstrating a basic proficiency of the principles (weight, balance, posing, timing, squash and stretch, follow-through, slow-in/slow-out, etc…) to the depth of artistic performance (the reflection of personality in acting, effortless movements, and the level to which the animator pushes the limits of art.)
Submitted demo reels will be rated using a Standardized Animation Demo Reel Evaluation Method used widely at several major animation studios.
In the Studios' Talent Search page studios can search for animators based on several different criteria - including the rating the animator received from the Judges. (The Talent Search page is different for the openly available search page; it is not available to the public but only for animation studios that have a YouAnimator access account.)

What are the advantages of being a Judge?
Simple: you make money every time you evaluate a demo reel. And you can evaluate demo reels whenever you feel like and however many you wish. You may want to evaluate a reel on your lunch-breaks or in the evenings or on the weekends. Are you busy for a week or two? No worries. You make as much as you work. It’s really flexible!
1. Acceptance of Use
A.By using and/or visiting this website (collectively, including all content and functionality available through the YouAnimator.com domain name, the "YouAnimator Website", or "Website"), you signify your agreement to (1) these terms and conditions (the "Terms and Conditions"), (2)YouAnimator's privacy notice, found at our Privacy Policy page here and incorporated here by reference, and (3) YouAnimator's Community Guidelines, found at our Community Guidelines page here and also incorporated here by reference. By using this Website, you additionally affirm that you are either more than 18 years of age, or an emancipated minor, or possess legal parental or guardian consent, and are fully able and competent to enter into the terms, conditions, obligations, affirmations, representations, and warranties set forth in these Terms and Conditions, and to abide by and comply with these Terms and Conditions. 2. YouAnimator Website
A.These Terms and Conditions apply to all users of the YouAnimator Website, including users who are also contributors of animated videos, information, and other materials or services on the Website. The YouAnimator Website includes all aspects of YouAnimator, including but not limited to all products, software and services offered via the website such as the YouAnimator character rigs and models, any downloadable files, YouAnimator channels, the YouAnimator "Embeddable Player," the YouAnimator "Uploader," the YouAnimator professional reel evaluator and other applications.
B.The YouAnimator Website may contain links to third party websites that are not owned or controlled by YouAnimator. YouAnimator has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party websites. In addition, YouAnimator will not and cannot censor or edit the content of any third-party site. By using the Website, you expressly relieve YouAnimator from any and all liability arising from your use of any third-party website.
C.Accordingly, we encourage you to be aware when you leave the YouAnimator Website and to read the terms and conditions and privacy policy of each other website that you visit.
3. YouAnimator Accounts
A.In order to access some features of the Website, you will have to create a YouAnimator account. You may never use another's account without permission. When creating your account, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are solely responsible for the activity that occurs on your account, and you must keep your account password secure. You must notify YouAnimator immediately of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.
B.Although YouAnimator will not be liable for your losses caused by any unauthorized use of your account, you may be liable for the losses of YouAnimator or others due to such unauthorized use.
C. YouAnimator will terminate a User's access to its Website if, under appropriate circumstances, they are determined to be a repeat infringer.
D.YouAnimator reserves the sole right to decide whether Content or a User Submission is appropriate and complies with these Terms and Conditions for violations other than copyright infringement, such as, but not limited to, pornography, obscene or defamatory material, or excessive length. YouAnimator may remove such User Submissions and/or terminate a User's access for uploading such material in violation of these Terms and Conditions at any time, without prior notice and at its sole discretion.
4. General Use of the Website - Permissions and Restrictions
YouAnimator hereby grants you permission to access and use the Website as set forth in these Terms and Conditions, provided that:
A.You agree not to distribute in any medium any part of the Website, including but not limited to User Submissions (defined below), without YouAnimator's prior written authorization.
B.You agree not to alter or modify any part of the Website, which includes but is not limited to future applications and features.
C.You agree not to access User Submissions (defined below) or YouAnimator Content through any technology or means other than the video playback pages of the Website itself, the YouAnimator Embeddable Player, or other explicitly authorized means YouAnimator may designate.
D.You agree not to use the Website, including the YouAnimator Embeddable Player, user submitted or otherwise available videos for any commercial use, without the prior written authorization of YouAnimator. Prohibited commercial uses include any of the following actions taken without YouAnimator's express approval:
- sale of access to the Website or its related services on another website;
-use of the Website or its related services for the primary purpose of gaining advertising or subscription revenue;
-the sale of advertising, on the YouAnimator website or any third-party website, targeted to the content of specific User Submissions or YouAnimator content;
-and any use of the Website or its related services, features or applications that YouAnimator finds, in its sole discretion, to use YouAnimator's resources or User Submissions with the effect of competing with or displacing the market for YouAnimator, YouAnimator content, or its User Submissions.
Prohibited commercial uses do not include:
-uploading an original video to YouAnimator, or maintaining an original account on YouAnimator, to promote your skills, talent or artistic enterprise;
-using the Embeddable Player to show YouAnimator videos on an ad-enabled blog or website, provided the primary purpose of using the Embeddable Player is not to gain advertising revenue or compete with YouAnimator;
-any use that YouAnimator expressly authorizes in writing.
If you use the YouAnimator Embeddable Player on your website, you must include a prominent link back to the YouAnimator website on the pages containing the Embeddable Player and you may not modify, build upon, or block any portion of the Embeddable Player in any way.
If you use the YouAnimator Uploader, you agree that it may automatically download and install updates from time to time from YouAnimator. These updates are designed to improve, enhance and further develop the Uploader and may take the form of bug fixes, enhanced functions, new software modules and completely new versions. You agree to receive such updates (and permit YouAnimator to deliver these to you) as part of your use of the Uploader.
You agree not to use or launch any automated system, including without limitation, "robots," "spiders," or "offline readers," that accesses the Website in a manner that sends more request messages to the YouAnimator servers in a given period of time than a human can reasonably produce in the same period by using a conventional on-line web browser. Notwithstanding the foregoing, YouAnimator grants the operators of public search engines permission to use spiders to copy materials from the site for the sole purpose of and solely to the extent necessary for creating publicly available searchable indices of the materials, but not caches or archives of such materials. YouAnimator reserves the right to revoke these exceptions either generally or in specific cases. You agree not to collect or harvest any personally identifiable information, including account names, from the Website, nor to use the communication systems provided by the Website (e.g. comments, email) for any commercial solicitation purposes. You agree not to solicit, for commercial purposes, any users of the Website with respect to their User Submissions.
In your use of the Website, you will otherwise comply with the provisions of these Terms and Conditions, YouAnimator Community Guidelines, and all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
YouAnimator reserves the right to discontinue any aspect of the YouAnimator Website at any time and to delete or cancel any accounts or User Submissions. YouAnimator is under no obligation to host, exhibit, or make available any User Submissions.
5. Your Use of Content on the Site
In addition to the general restrictions above, the following restrictions and conditions apply specifically to your use of content on the YouAnimator Website.
A.The content on the YouAnimator Website, except all User Submissions (as defined below), including without limitation, the text, software, scripts, graphics, photos, sounds, music, videos, interactive features and the like ("Content") and the trademarks, service marks and logos contained therein ("Marks"), are owned by or licensed to YouAnimator, subject to copyright and other intellectual property rights under the law. Content on the Website is provided to you AS IS for your information and personal use only and may not be downloaded, copied, reproduced, distributed, transmitted, broadcast, displayed, sold, licensed, or otherwise exploited for any other purposes whatsoever without the prior written consent of the respective owners. YouAnimator reserves all rights not expressly granted in and to the Website and the Content.
B.You may access User Submissions for your information and personal use solely as intended through the provided functionality of the YouAnimator Website. You shall not copy or download any User Submission unless you see a “download” or similar link displayed by YouAnimator on the YouAnimator Website for that User Submission.
C.User Comments are made available to you for your information and personal use solely as intended through the normal functionality of the YouAnimator Website. User Comments are made available "as is", and may not be used, copied, reproduced, distributed, transmitted, broadcast, displayed, sold, licensed, downloaded, or otherwise exploited in any manner not intended by the normal functionality of the YouAnimator Website or otherwise as prohibited under this Agreement.
D.You may access YouAnimator Content, User Submissions and other content only as permitted under this Agreement. YouAnimator reserves all rights not expressly granted in and to the YouAnimator Content and the YouAnimator Website.
E.You agree to not engage in the use, copying, or distribution of any of the Content other than expressly permitted herein, including any use, copying, or distribution of User Submissions of third parties obtained through the Website for any commercial purposes.
F.You agree not to circumvent, disable or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the YouAnimator Website or features that prevent or restrict use or copying of any Content or enforce limitations on use of the YouAnimator Website or the Content therein.
G.You understand that when using the YouAnimator Website, you will be exposed to User Submissions from a variety of sources, and that YouAnimator is not responsible for the accuracy, usefulness, safety, or intellectual property rights of or relating to such User Submissions. You further understand and acknowledge that you may be exposed to User Submissions that are inaccurate, offensive, indecent, or objectionable, and you agree to waive, and hereby do waive, any legal or equitable rights or remedies you have or may have against YouAnimator with respect thereto, and agree to indemnify and hold YouAnimator, its Owners/Operators, affiliates, and/or licensors, harmless to the fullest extent allowed by law regarding all matters related to your use of the site.
6. Your User Submissions and Conduct
A.As a YouAnimator account holder you may submit animated video content and/or character animation demonstrations ("User Videos"). User Videos and User Comments are collectively referred to as "User Submissions." You understand that whether or not such User Submissions are published, YouAnimator does not guarantee any confidentiality with respect to any User Submissions.
B.You shall be solely responsible for your own User Submissions and the consequences of posting or publishing them. In connection with User Submissions, you affirm, represent, and/or warrant that: you own or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to use and authorize YouAnimator to use all patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights in and to any and all User Submissions to enable inclusion and use of the User Submissions in the manner contemplated by the Website and these Terms and Conditions.
C.For clarity, you retain all of your ownership rights in your User Submissions. However, by submitting User Submissions to YouAnimator, you hereby grant YouAnimator a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the User Submissions in connection with the YouAnimator Website and YouAnimator's (and its successors' and affiliates') business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the YouAnimator Website (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels. You also hereby grant each user of the YouAnimator Website a non-exclusive license to access your User Submissions through the Website, and to use, reproduce, distribute, display and perform such User Submissions as permitted through the functionality of the Website and under these Terms and Conditions. The above licenses granted by you in User Videos terminate within a commercially reasonable time after you remove or delete your User Videos from the YouAnimator Website. You understand and agree, however, that YouAnimator may retain, but not display, distribute, or perform, server copies of User Submissions that have been removed or deleted. The above licenses granted by you in User Comments are perpetual and irrevocable.
D.In connection with User Submissions, you further agree that you will not submit material that is copyrighted, protected by trade secret or otherwise subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the material and to grant YouAnimator all of the license rights granted herein.
E.You further agree that you will not, in connection with User Submissions, submit material that is contrary to the YouAnimator Community Guidelines, which may be updated from time to time, or contrary to applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
F.YouAnimator does not endorse any User Submission or any opinion, recommendation, or advice expressed therein, and YouAnimator expressly disclaims any and all liability in connection with User Submissions. YouAnimator does not permit copyright infringing activities and infringement of intellectual property rights on its Website, and YouAnimator will remove all Content and User Submissions if properly notified that such Content or User Submission infringes on another's intellectual property rights. YouAnimator reserves the right to remove Content and User Submissions without prior notice.
7. Copyright Violations and Notices
A.If you are a copyright owner or an agent thereof and believe that any User Submission or other content infringes upon your copyrights, you may submit a notification pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") by providing our Copyright Agent with the following information in writing (see 17 U.S.C 512(c)(3) for further detail):
-A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed;
-Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works at a single online site are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works at that site;
-Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled and information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to locate the material;
-Information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and, if available, an electronic mail;
-A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
-A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

For clarity, only DMCA notices should go to the Copyright Agent; any other feedback, comments, requests for technical support, and other communications should be directed to YouAnimator customer service through support@youanimator.com . You acknowledge that if you fail to comply with all of the requirements of this Section 5(D), your DMCA notice may not be valid.
Counter-Notice. If you believe that your User Submission that was removed (or to which access was disabled) is not infringing, or that you have the authorization from the copyright owner, the copyright owner's agent, or pursuant to the law, to post and use the content in your User Submission, you may send a counter-notice containing the following information to the Copyright Agent:
-Your physical or electronic signature;
-Identification of the content that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location at which the content appeared before it was removed or disabled;
-A statement that you have a good faith belief that the content was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or a misidentification of the content; and
-Your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address, and a statement that you will accept service of process from the person who provided notification of the alleged infringement.
If a counter-notice is received by the Copyright Agent, YouAnimator may send a copy of the counter-notice to the original complaining party informing that person that it may replace the removed content or cease disabling it in 10 business days. Unless the copyright owner files an action seeking a court order against the content provider, member or user, the removed content may be replaced, or access to it restored, in 10 to 14 business days or more after receipt of the counter-notice, at YouAnimator's sole discretion.
8. Warranty Disclaimer
YOU AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF THE YOUANIMATOR WEBSITE SHALL BE AT YOUR SOLE RISK. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOUANIMATOR, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IN CONNECTION WITH THE WEBSITE AND YOUR USE THEREOF. 10. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless YouAnimator, its parent corporation, officers, directors, employees and agents, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees) arising from: (i) your use of and access to the YouAnimator Website; (ii) your violation of any term of these Terms and Conditions; (iii) your violation of any third party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right; or (iv) any claim that one of your User Submissions caused damage to a third party. This defense and indemnification obligation will survive these Terms and Conditions and your use of the YouAnimator Website.
11. Assignment
These Terms and Conditions, and any rights and licenses granted hereunder, may not be transferred or assigned by you, but may be assigned by YouAnimator without restriction.
12. Miscellaneous
You agree that: (i) the YouAnimator Website shall be deemed solely based in Iowa; and (ii) the YouAnimator Website shall be deemed a passive website that does not give rise to personal jurisdiction over YouAnimator, either specific or general, in jurisdictions other than Iowa. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the internal substantive laws of the State of Iowa, without respect to its conflict of laws principles. Any claim or dispute between you and YouAnimator that arises in whole or in part from your use of the YouAnimator Website shall be decided exclusively by a court of competent jurisdiction located Iowa. YouAnimator’s purpose is to help character animators reach their dreams of being discovered. In its simplistic term: YouAnimator takes your work and showcase it to studios.
The onus of creating a safe, fun, respectful, and robust online community rests with the members and users of YouAnimator. The following guidelines will help make our YouAnimator community a place we will all “ache to go back” to:
Respect copyright: Do not use music in your demo reels you do not own the rights to.
Respect copyright: Do not include animation in your demo reel you did not create. (In some cases, for continuity purposes you may need to include such work. In that case, clearly identify that it was not your work.)
Respect copyright and intellectual property: Only upload animations that you are authorized to use.
It is permitted to use studio material in your demo reel as long as you are the author of that material. Use of copyright-protected material by the author to build their portfolios, show their portfolios to prospective clients or demonstrate their creative output generally constitutes fair use of the material under the U.S. Copyright Act, even if the author has assigned the work to others. For further information, please review Fleming v. Miles, 181 F.Supp.2d 1143 (D. Oregon 2001) or Unbundling Fair Uses, 77 Fordham L. Rev. 2537 (2009).
It is good practice to indicate what studio owns the rights to the movie. We recommend you indicate it on your demo reel: “Property of XYZ Studios.”
Respect the rights of the studios: Animation that has not been released theatrically is not permitted to post on YouAnimator. Only include works that have been released on DVD.
YouAnimator is not for pornography or sexually explicit content. If this describes your animation, don't post it on YouAnimator.
Graphic or gratuitous violence is not allowed. If your animation/story shows someone being physically hurt, attacked, or humiliated, don't post it.
Don't post depictions of illegal or abusive behavior or animations intended primarily to shock or disgust.
We encourage free speech and defend everyone's right to express unpopular points of view.) But we don't permit hate speech (speech which attacks or demeans a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity). In addition, respect other users: do not post comments to others that can be deemed hurtful, offensive or anything that may entice an argument. Although we encourage free speech, we would like to keep YouAnimator free from comments reflecting frustration, anger or offense.
Inappropriate content including, but not limited to predatory behavior, stalking, threats, harassment, intimidation, invading privacy, revealing other people’s personal information, and inciting others to commit violent acts or to violate YouAnimator’s Terms and Conditions Agreement may lead to the removal of your account and possible legal consequences.
Don’t create misleading descriptions, tags, titles or thumbnails in order to increase views. It's not okay to post large amounts of untargeted, unwanted or repetitive content, including comments and private messages. Don’t upload content (videos, stories, etc…) more than once – even if the video doesn’t appear in certain parts of the website as you may have wished. .
Respect the allotted time for submissions. YouAnimator’s purpose is to create a large repository of short, funny animated comics. Its other purpose is to find the world’s most talented computer animators. We currently allow a maximum time of 3 minutes for each submission – and we will decline any submissions that are longer than that.
YouAnimator reserves the right to remove or restrict content that it deems violates the Community Guidelines. Accounts are penalized for Community Guidelines violations and serious or repeated violations can lead to account termination. If your account is terminated, you will not be allowed to create any new accounts.

We at YouAnimator recognize that your privacy is important. This privacy policy applies to all YouAnimator services and activities.
Our Promise
YouAnimator will not sell or give your personal contact information to any third parties without your consent.
Certain third parties who may work on behalf of YouAnimator for site-management purposes, whose activities are necessary for the operating, developing or improving our services of YouAnimator (e.g.: administration and service) may from time to time manage data structures that may contain personal information are excluded from this promise. These certain third parties however are prohibited from using the personal information not in accordance with the main two reasons YouAnimator collects personal information described below. In rare cases, YouAnimator may be required by law to provide personal information to comply with any legal investigation.
Information we collect and how we use it
We offer a number of services that do not require you to register for an account or provide any personal information to us, such as YouAnimator Search. In order to provide our full range of services, we may collect the following types of information:
YouAnimator Collects personal information for the following reasons:
1. To be able to track the source of Content Submissions to our website (i.e.: to know who created the work). YouAnimator tracks the source in case the artist is recognized for quality of work (Best Artist, etc…) or whose art gets published through a web-publisher (and the artist may receive compensation for it, if YouAnimator so decides). YouAnimator also tracks the source of artwork if any disciplinary action needs to be taken (e.g.: to remove a content submission (video submission, short story submission, etc…)) and be able to notify the user of such activity.
2. To be able to connect talented artists (animators) with parties interested working with these artists (these “interested parties” include but are not limited to animation companies, game development companies, project teams). YouAnimator will not provide personal information directly to these “interested parties.” Interested parties will be able to connect with animators without YouAnimator needing to disclose the animator’s contact information by clicking on the “Contact Me” button on the animator’s Business Card Page. YouAnimator is not liable for any damages that may incur from an interested party contacting a YouAnimator user.
Information you provide – When you sign up for a YouAnimator Account or other YouAnimator service or promotion that requires registration, we ask you for personal information (such as your name, email address and an account password). Registration to YouAnimator is free of charge, and YouAnimator does not collect or store any credit card or other payment account information.
Cookies – YouAnimator sends only one cookie: that allows you to log in without having to enter username and password again in later stages. This cookie however is not automatic but a user-opted function and by checking the box at “remember me” the user opts for using the cookie. YouAnimator does not send any other cookies to the user’s computer.
User communications – When you send email or other communications to YouAnimator, we may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve our services.
Affiliated YouAnimator Services on other sites – We offer some of our services on or through other web sites. Personal information that you provide to YouAnimator will not be passed to these other web sites. The affiliated sites through which our services are offered may have different privacy practices and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
Links – YouAnimator may present links in a format that enables us to keep track of whether these links have been followed. We use this information to improve the quality of our search technology, customized content and advertising.
Other sites – This Privacy Policy applies to YouAnimator services only. Other sites that show YouAnimator products/services (e.g.: play our videos) may place their own cookies or other files on your computer, collect data or solicit personal information from you. YouAnimator is not responsible how these other websites use personal information on their sites.
YouAnimator only processes personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and/or the supplementary privacy notices for specific services. In addition to the above, such purposes include:
